Well I-10 is clearly just a visual pun on 110. I doubt it means anything else....However, maybe this has now been lost in a mass of meaningless letters and numbers.
I keep waiting for the Pentax K-2 to come out...

Lots of film bodies, a couple of digital ones, too many lenses (mainly older glass) and a Horseman LE 5x4.

Your problems with the W80 are well documented, but I don't think that you can automatically say all Pentax compacts are suspect.A little off topic but let me just say that at least one forum member has a refund on a W80 because it was not fit for purpose. Buyer beware with Pentax compact!

My entry in last week's competition was taken with a P70 and hopefully you would agree that it compares very favourably with a similar entry taken on a K7 :

No, i have never said all Pentax compacts are suspect. The W80 is not fit for purpose and it`s not just me saying it. The pentax appointed repair folk are unable to fix the issue of IQ. Look on the net for more info, what concerns me is that Pentax are unable/unwilling to either admit the problem or cure it. Now how close is the W90? Did they have to come up with a new model because of the serious failings of the prvious model? Is it just as bad, nobody knows yet. Am I put off Pentax? No, but I am very sceptical about their quality issues because of my experience with the W80. I have a K10 and a K20 and there is every possibilty that they will see me out. I suppose I am constantly raising the issue in the hope that others wont waste their money. If the W90 is a whole lot better I might be tempted. I seriously like the ergonomics of the W80, it can be operated quite well with one hand and with an additional lanyard it sits nicely inside my flotation aid. Incidentally the previous model never had IQ issues according to the repairers. The only repairs they have to do is the replacement of screens etc. caused by physical damage.

Yes the W80 is not a good camera while the W60 has quite some good reviews and came out with a third place with DPreview test for underwater cameras. http://www.dpreview.com/reviews/Q209waterproofgroup/page17.asp
Makes you wander what they did wrong with the W80.

Thanks for the link Stefan, interesting conclusions. I still have not decided which camera to go for use in my Kayak but I doubt it will be Pentax. Shame really, I would have liked to post pics on the forum.

I've been posting a few I-10 images in the gallery and on EPZ and so far I'm impressed.
The lens is sharp, the shake reduction seems better than the software based version and the slightly larger body does make it easier to hold steady anyway.
Colour fringing seems totally absent so far, which is a definite plus.
It seems that there is some decent performance as well as a bit of style about this one. At the same time I have been hawking around an original Auto 110 with a few lenses, so eventually there will be a tale to tell there.

Thanks for your input with the I-10 John, the pictures you have posted seem a decent quality. Were you up early or had the clock stopped?

Wonder if I put one in a plastic bag I could consider it waterproof? Probably a bit too bulky though but it does look good.

When I was surfing the other day I came across an underwater housing for the K-m. No other Pentax Dslrs just the K-m. I can't find it now though, as my history gets erased regularly.

Shouldn't you have got the underwater housing before you went surfing?
I have a proper underwater housing for my Optio S50 and a beautifully made thing it is too. It carries Pentax logos but was made for Pentax by Sealife, kind of similar to this link
