Hi all,

Just wondering if anyone has any feedback for the I-10? It's been available a while now and I'm sure some forum users have one.

Cheers

Rob
If you can't say something nice about Pentax, you won't say anything at all.

Apparently.

Yes indeed I do and I've been using it for a few days now.

Suffice it to say that the design is gorgeous, the quality is so far very encouraging and it seems a little more reliable in terms of those results that a lot of small cameras.

I've decided to order a vintage look leather and canvas Pentax case for it as well. Might as well do the job properly!

I you want to see some results have a look at today's set of 6 images of gavestones on EPZ. My username there is johnriley1uk

Very nice photos John.
I'm tempted by the good looks, and it looks like the images are as good.
Did you go for the lovely cream version?

Edit, just looked at the usual shops here in the Netherlands and it isn't available yet Only the likes of Pixmania are offering it . Shame.

Are there any proper reviews anywhere? Been searching but no luck so far.

Cheers John. Nice images.

Sounds very positive, one may be winging it's way in my direction very soon.

I found this one today.

It doesn't inspire me to part with my euros .

Maybe not, but we don't have to believe all that. I've found it to be better than my P70, and the P70 was also very good. The P70 equally got indifferent reviews.

I think it depends what you want such a camera for, and if I can make an A3 print if I want to then it's OK with me.

As one of the people who replied to the review said, the charges levelled against the I-10 could equally well apply to almost every other compact digital camera.

I know it is much the same as any other compact - but you are paying for the looks with this one I think.

I'm still tempted, and if they are ever on sale here I shall look at them.
But I may look at the W90 at the same time. and maybe some other brands too

Beware the W90. If it`s anything like the W80 you will be in for a shock. IQ could be very poor and Pentax do not have an answer for it. Leave Pentax out of your buying plans and try other makes.

I can't agree with that. Pentax compacts can and do produce some excellent results. I have used the S5i, T30, A20, P70, I-10 and Z750 and all have been perfectly satisfactory.

I think they can be very different. We have a superb S50 and a woeful M20, there was a big difference in price, mind you.

The funny thing about the M20 is that it takes superb macro shots but everything else is quite poor.

We have been impressed by the P70, which we restrict to the lower ISO range.

Does anyone know what the letters mean, if anything?

There is a designation, or was. E I think is entry level, A is the top of the line at the time, W is water resistant, M I can't remember....

I have a leaflet somewhere that details all this. It also made up names for the different SLR ranges...

However, maybe this has now been lost in a mass of meaningless letters and numbers.
