Last time I saw anything lilke that was a press photographers camera in a Raymond Chandler film (B&W to boot). Had a big flash reflector as well

I've got a 6x6 Voigtlander Kontur but
they also did a 35mm version.

You keep both eyes open and your brain forms a 3D image with
the brightline superimposed over what your looking at.
If you just look through the viewfinder with one eye
you just see pitch black with a white brightline.

I remember seeing one about 50 years ago and thought it was a great idea, but not seen one used on an SLR.
