Yes, and I'm a bit troubled by this 'send your discount form in with the item'.Terms; The discount will only be given if the coupon below is enclosed with your equipment when it is sent for repair and is only applicable if the equipment is sent direct to JP Service Solutions by a Pentax User club member.
I called JPSS for a quote for something, without telling them I was a PU+ member. They quoted me '£100 plus VAT, plus parts'. Not in writing, sadly.
I've now had the work done, and guess what the quote is, including my discount.
Hint: no parts required.

Yes, I won't be so gullible next time.

I have dealt with JPSS on a number of occasions and have generally found them to be very good.
If I have a problem with a lens, I usually ask to speak to someone in the technical department first. The guys are quite open when it comes to simple fixes and genrally pretty good when it comes to finding replacement parts. They have also helped with technical data , which has allowed a 'self repair'
If I do decide to go ahead with a repair , I then call the Service department, detail the conversation with Technical and ask for an estimate by email, their default is to use the Royal Mail , which delays things.
I call again a few days before the estimated repair date to ask how things are progressing, and to confirm time and date of delivery.
This might seem a lot of hassle, but my repairs are always on time and estimate.
Regards - Steve

No, not at all. It sounds perfectly sensible. I did speak to someone in the Service dept, describing in detail the problem (excessive back focus). This might seem a lot of hassle
My mistake was in assuming there was no alternative to sending my PU+ number in with the lens, so that they knew I was a member before producing the written estimate.
Of course, it could be that it's complete coincidence that the bill including discount is exactly the same as the estimate they gave me over the phone without reference to any discount.
Ha

Chris, did you take this up with them and ask for an explanation?

I'm going to wait and see a) if the lens is now ok (it's on its way back to me) and b) what it actually says on all the documentation. It's possible I've got the wrong end of the stick, in which case I'll post a humble retraction!Chris, did you take this up with them and ask for an explanation?
TBH, though, I don't see the point of challenging it. Foolishly, I have nothing in writing, no name of the person I spoke with, so I have no proof of anything.
I only mention it, so that if others find themselves in the same situation, they're forewarned of the risk.
I was impatient to get the lens fixed, basically. Mea culpa!
In future, I'll be insisting on a written estimate without any reference to PU membership.

It appears this isn't totally set in stone. I recieved the discount after contacting Jpss. Even though it was sent to them via a third party repairer.
