Yes a great set. I especially appreciate the well chosen exposures - you've let the underneath of the train and the deep shadows on the trackbeds go very black, but thats acceptable here, and has allowed the colours to shine on the paintwork. There's very little in these two shots to suggest the modern world, it all looks very authentic

Wow - Thanks for all of your positive feedback. I may post another set of other locos.

Trains are an 'occasional' subject for me - normally due to a day out with my steam train mad 4 year old - always great fun but can make getting decent shots an interesting challenge

For those interested -

1) Tamron SP AF 70-200 f/2.8 Di Ld @ 92.5mm, f/4.5, 1/125, ISO 400
2) Sigma 10-20 (old faithful) @ 20mm, f/8, 1/125, ISO 100
3) Pentax DA 17-70 SDM @ 58mm, f/4.5, 1/125, ISO 100
4) Sigma 10-20 @ 10mm, f/8, 1/125, ISO 100
5) Sigma 10-20 @ 20mm, f/8, 1/125, ISO 100

The sun was a demon that weekend and without a CPL and ND grads, the results would have been pitiful.

Sigma and Pentax used with a Hoya Pro CPL plus 100mm hi-tech ND6 Grad
Tamron - Kenko Pro CPL only

No matter how many lenses I have owned - I have always needed just one more
