I'm not drawn to train shots, but these are well worth viewing Carl and the second one for me is a stunner. I also really like the last one, in the context of the surroundings, the signals, the crossing and the signal box.

Impressive stuff

The people hanging out of the windows in two helps IMHO
K10D, K5 plus plenty of clueless enthusiasm.

These are very good indeed Carl. Highly polished locomotives and bright sun often lead to blown highlights but the reflections you've captured are very effective and give the images vibrancy. I also like the atmospheric effects of smoke and steam in several of these shots.

One and two for me are very good. Not so keen on the two with the reflections.

1 is very special for superb composition, I'd have that printed on the wall. 3 for interesting reflections well controlled for highlights.

I'm especially impressed with the colour saturation of the set.

Is it possible for such posts to be told more about lens and settings? The Gallery has EXIF but this ethod of posting doesn't seem to.

I too was most drawn to No. 2 but all are great pictures of the subject.

Bill...I use Firefox as a browser and an add-on called "Fxif". There are several that give varying degrees of info, it just happens to work best for me.

Give it a try if your curiosity is being frustrated. Once installed you right click an image and select Fxif from the options. You get this pop up box...

Sometimes I'm serious and sometimes not, but I consider sarcasm an artform. Which is it today?

That's brilliant, took seconds to install into Firefox. Thank you.

Yep, a great set - with No.2 really standing out - it's got composition, atmosphere and quality

I've not taken any train shots despite having a steam railway on my doorstep. Keep meaning too. This awesome set of photos may just have inspired me. Well done Carl, they absolutely superb.

No2 is my favourite. Love the composition and the colours. Has a proper 1960's period feel to it.
