Who needs New England, when you live 5 minutes from Burnham Beeches?
ISO200, 0.5sec at F22, 16mm (16-45 FA lens on a DS), Tripod, mirror locked up. Should have used an ND grad to keep some detail in the sky. Dull overcast day

Nice shot Tim,
Burnham's only about 20 miles from me.. I might pop over there at the weekend, although where I live in Bracknell, it's just a riot of colour at the moment. It's really been changing in the last week or two, so I'll see on Saturday.. it's meant to be a sunny day as well.

Excellent photos chaps!!
Especially with the DL and 18-55 (mine will go when it's replaced....by K10)
I have for 2 years been to the US to try to catch it - New England last year only to miss it by two weeks (thanks to Katrina), this year in Virginia catching the beginning....

If it is sunny at the weekend, there'll be more people than wood ants running round the place! If you come over, make sure you get to Egypt Lane, a veritable tunnel of colour (and as yet un-photographed by me!)

Well I managed to avoid being trampled to death in Burnham Beecheas at the weekend. If you threw a stick anywhere you'd have hit several thousand pounds worth of cameras.
Not entirely dis-satisfied with this effort (at leat I managed to avoid getting people in it!)
DS & 16-45 mm lens, ISO200, 1/2 second @ F22

Well, I don't have access to Old England in the fall, but here is a link (sorry, could be a bit problematic again, don't know why) showing fall 2004 in the New Forest, Hampshire. I added a bit of glow to it with PS...
Pentax *istD, PENTAX-FA J 18-35mmF4-5.6AL, 1/90s, A16, ISO200, gradient filter & PS.
As you can see, it never rains in Southern England

Edited at last. This was taken at Winkworth Arboretum yesterday (Sunday). This is one of the less colourful ones..
