A few years ago I had an Eagle jeep kit car based on the Ford Cortina - mostly fibreglass and aluminium with a rag top and big tyres.I commuted for about 5 years in it and when my dad left me his BMW 3 Series I gave it to my daughter who was a probationary PC in Edmonton London.
She arrived at work one morning in the Eagle and parked up in the underground area.A passing Inspector asked " Are there many Kangaroos in N.London ?" - " No " Emma replied ,respectfully - " Then get those *&^%$^ bull bars off the front quickly "....................ooops !

Lots of film bodies, a couple of digital ones, too many lenses (mainly older glass) and a Horseman LE 5x4.

All titanium, I am glad to say. Bone doesn't graft to steel, and steel would have seriously messed up my job.eeeeeek - a lot of steel in that

I sold my Disco for sundry reasons but getting about 30 mpg was one of them and I'm not sure the more modern ones are much better. But with your 'previous' you know all about filling up 20 gallon tanks
I got about 34mpg on average out of the Defender (200TDi). Being a 2 ton brick made the P38 RR a lot more thirsty and I was lucky to get as much as 30mpg from that.
I'm happy with the 65mpg I get from my Citroen C4 for the moment.
