So I am off to the beautiful sardegna in 10 days, and as you may have heard my 16-50 took a fall and won't be able to join us. So having said that I have to take my camera and tripod because the beach scenes are just out of this world. My problem lies with the lens choice remaining doesn't it. Under 50mm I unfortunately have remaining a 35 FA 2.0 or the old kit lens (what is it, the 18-55) . The 35 is an awesome lens but for landscapes in dig format not so great for obvious reasons, and then there is the kit lens, good range but it's the kit isn't it. What would you guys choose?

The 18-135mm or 18-270mm will do you good service. If wet climes, then the former for its WR, if a dry area then the latter will cover just about any eventuality in one lens.
Best regards, John
