Off-camera flash bracket advice?

Not so, the AF400t also has 'Auto' mode and has its own sensor which measures the light reflected back by the subject. I just don't see much point in buying something like an AF400T when I can't use anything other than the manual mode.
I find this more reliable than P-TTL quite often.

You want one really. Did I mention it's a tad more powerful than the AF400T? There was also a battery pack made for it to facilitate faster recycling.
Just picture one sitting on top of your Hot Shoe Grip . . . .

Some people collect lenses, I seem to be collecting flasguns and TBH I dont really use them that much. The 400s are for weddings mainly, one as a backup, and are great with their wide angle adapters for (over) lighting white studio backgrounds. I used the 360 a lot at a wedding at the weekend where I was a guest. Quite funny really using the set up in the pictures above when the official nikonista was using the built in flash for everything. I look forward with interest to seeing his results.
I should really sell the AF280t and the AF240ft along with their wide and tele adapters.

I'm now in a bit of a quandary:
I could buy a used Metz 45 CL-1 hammerhead flashgun, the trigger voltage is safe according to various sources and it comes with all the bits for £40
Alternatively I can get a bracket to mount my AF240Z in a similar position for £10
I don't use flash a huge amount, I already have the AF240Z and the cable to trigger it off-camera is in the post. However, I'm thinking that the bracket is £10 I could be putting towards the Metz unit. Thoughts?

Already have done - there's a Metz 45 CL-1 in the post. The first one I spotted had sold but I noticed an identical one for £36, which isn't bad even if I need to replace the nicads. They appear to be standard AAs so I just need to match the amp/hour rating.
