October meet

I'm really looking forward to the day but am properly confused with the car parking. I plan to park in the first car park that I come across (as long as it's not miles to walk to town) and then walk to the tourist info office.

Car parking is easy enough - there just aren't many long term car parks.

Chances are - you will come in to Pickering on the A169 (this is the main route).

As you get in to Pickering you pass a petrol station on your left - in previous years - there has been a temporary car park set up just past it on the left for the event.

If not - continue a bit further to the roundabout. Go straight on at the roundabout - signposted Whitby. A few yards on there is a car park on the right - sign posted from the main road - this is the main long stay car park. Normally this would be a 5-10 minute walk from where we are meeting.

I was intending arriving around 0830 to go and grab a bacon buttie and a coffee and Barrie was considering joining me.

Mr Wilf's on Vivis Lane is good, as is the Frog on market place. Only question is whether they will be open early on a Sunday - I suspect at least one will be for the event.

If you want to meet early - we will find out

Worst case scenario - bacon buttie and drink at the station buffet
