Not a Puffin in Sight!

OK the title is not strictly true - I did see a few Puffins but did not have the right gear with me. The right gear being either:

A. A 120ft ladder and a lot of ropes
B. A DA 560 + 2x 1.4TCs
C. A Boat - which I would probably have sailed to the Farnes

One of these days I will get a good 'Puffin day" but actually I always enjoy photographing Gannets - there is something mesmerizing about spending all day watching them soar around the cliff tops.

As always C+C welcome

Carl

PS - 2nd set posted today as a few have commented things have been a little light recently and it is ages since I posted a set.

Carl, I love Gannets, and this is a great place to go for them

Very difficult managing the whites on a sunny day, and you seem to have managed that well.

#8 is the stand out one for me, as where possible I'm trying to get some "action" in the pictures,. Very nice movement in the wings. These birds have a fabulous eye which is best captured in #6

A super set of images. I like them all with #8 as my favourite. I never got tired of watching them diving for fish escaping from the net, sometimes as close as a few feet away. It was amazing to see the size of the fish they could swallow too
