No Photography, No Viewing?

I used to play at RAF Cosford.

As for The KENT BATTLE OF BRITAIN MUSEUM , well they can keep their museum.

The fabricated The War Against Terror has already caused untold damage to photography in the Western world. People should start to use some common sense and moral decency instead of staring into the headlights of borgness and helping to stifle humanity.

Even the London Underground allows Photography (no flash or tripods ) and that actually has been the target of bombings.

Didn't you know, John, that according to Channel 5, the Germans won the Battle of Britain! Perhaps that is why photography is banned amongst others!
I left a note in their "Guest" book earlier today. It will only be published once it is approved by.......

Perhaps Channel 5 are correct - and a Gestapo cell is running the place! Visitors are "Verboten"

Retired at last - now all that time for photography - you would think: wink:

On a vaguely related note...

Does anyone else feel an urge to photograph every hectoring and just plain daft sign they see? My favourite so far is "No climbing and sliding on the funnel" on a channel ferry. I hadn't even considered whether it was possible before being confronted with this ugly great sign!

"No climbing on the monument" was another one. I could understand it at a memorial but this was an abandoned lead mine. Which bits were you not supposed to climb on? What happened to common sense about not climbing on high stuff as it will hurt if you fall off?

I'm a bit baffled how C5 reached that conclusion. I know the legend of "The Few" has been widely debunked (in short terms, while the RAF began the battle outnumbered they were far quicker to replace pilots and aircraft than the Luftwaffe leaving them ahead) but the Luftwaffe lost the battle due to political interference in their plans. Had they continued attacking RAF sites rather than London there would have been a real risk of the battle going against us.

Of course the reason behind these restrictions are very likely to be security. If people take pictures and make notes, someone may ask for the return of that Messerschmidt that I bet was not legally bought from the original owner!

I think the thing to do is to let the museum know that their petty restrictions are just limiting their visitor numbers.

Lots of film bodies, a couple of digital ones, too many lenses (mainly older glass) and a Horseman LE 5x4.

This reminds me of the time when I was in lengthy negotiations with Cawdor Castle about making a promotional video. In the end it didn't happen because the Lady of the house decided that thieves might see the video and burgal the house. It made no sense since the house is open to the public, you can take pictures and certainly your notebook and buy a lovely illustrated guide book showing all the treasures.

Never have worked out the logic of that!

A notebook is obviously banned because , as we all know , a good lightning sketch artist can recreate a scene with amazing accuracy viz the guy that recorded the Charge of the Light Brigade , and the bloke who stood near Harold on the field at Hastings without whom we might never have seen the results. Also a good quality notebook with spiral binding could be deconstructed and used as an offensive weapon or a tool for picking a lock !!!!!

They deserve all the bad press they are getting !!

Some people are proof that evolution has got into reverse.

Why o why do they get into positions of power?

Stupid woman. And worse, at the end, she claims a supernatural being made the bear let go.

Evolution has no direction, wherever benefits a gene's spread in a population will be favoured. Stupid and making lots of babies is 'better' in terms of success than clever and no babies.

There is more to it than that but there is no direction or end point. Just different selective pressures.

Interesting concept Tyr - I once asked a Forensic Pathologist why we just didn`t wipe out all the criminals and rid society of the genes - his reply was that nature would just throw us a curve and create a super criminal to replace the extinct ones.

Must be the same with jobsworths
