Shame - you're right, it's a nice shop and a shame that they've had to do this. LCE on the Strand seem to have less Pentax stuff now too, and they used to stock quite a lot.
On the other hand, Kx and K-7 seem to be widely stocked by Jacobs and Curry's; but not much of a lens collection - that seems to be in a fairly exclusive number of shops nowadays but the Internet helps.

Hi folks, well a bit of self promotion and back up for Pentax, i have recently taken on Pentax at my shop in Colchester, a brand i am very passionate about , the support and encouragement i have had from Pentax has been outstanding, they do care about their products and their user base, they are a brand with big plans and customer and dealer service is right at the top of their list.
Prices on all makes and margains is always under attack , Pentax does not suffer more or less than any other brand, beleive in a product and it will work !
I am sure our Strand branch will always be happy to supply any Pentax product at short notice, Colchester is not far away and is a very photogenic town.
Our stock of Pentax and Pentax fit equipment grows daily, visitors from any area of course always welcome and we are open 7 days a week, and contactable by phone upto 10pm daily

Thanks for your posts that helped me buy into Pentax after a long time considering many cameras, both full frame & cropped. This is my first post.
Last week I was in Camera World in Wells Street, London. A very good shop (with another branch in Chelmsford), they are friendly, knowledgeable and helpful. One of the guys asked how I was getting on with my new K7, which I had bought elsewhere at the same price they were selling at - £900 after the £100 rebate. I said “Great” and went on about it briefly.
I noticed they hadn’t any K7s or anything else by Pentax on display and asked how sales of the K7 were going and he said, “We were losing £40 on every body we sold and... well I mean Pentax... they just don’t care. So that’s it – we’re not stocking them anymore”. I’m sorry to make my first post a bit of a downer, but the way in which he sighed in some sort of dammed resignation when he said that Pentax didn’t care was really quite sickening.
