With the arrival of spring and the blooming of wild flowers my thoughts are turning to happy days kneeling in the muck in hedgerows taking photos! I have for a while been thinking of getting a focus rail (rack, whatever you want to call it). Some of them are quite pricey. Has anyone had experience of the cheap Chinese ones from ebay? Or will it be a classic case of getting what one pays for!
Many thanks, Kris.

I have been thinking about one too, , so if you come across something that its worthwhile a look let me know please.
Certainly can't afford one which is expensive so hopefully we will find something reasonably priced. But like you I know nothing about it so will keep an eye on the thread to see if someone comes up with any ideas.
Thanks

Some of the Chinese ones look OK. Novaflex are very good. Mines the proper Pentax one, long since discontinued, but excellent if you can find one. Other camera maker FR should also be good.

It is an illusion that photos are made with the camera… they are made with the eye, heart and head. Henri Cartier-Bresson
Lots of film bodies, a couple of digital ones, too many lenses (mainly older glass) and a Horseman LE 5x4.
