It will be exciting when they arrive. I'd rather wait a while than get a rushed job.

John,
how many years have we been waiting now...
I bet when they do arrive they'll be re-badged 3rd party lenses anyway.
Where's the mirrorless, full frame, or updated GR cameras? and what about the massive holes in the current lens line up.

It's the 100-400mm I'm concerned about. It needs to arrive when I can afford it, as I know I need it even before we know specifically what its spec is.
Best regards, John

If they could get out the 16-85 that would be top of my shopping list And imagine if it also featured a' large diameter' ... That would keep plenty of us happy in anticipation !

Some Gossip, lifted from Dpreview...

"See this in PF website: http://www.pentaxforums.com/articles/photokina-2014/three-new-pentax-k-mount-len...
Three zoom lenses are coming, according to their roadmap they will probably: 16-85mm, 70-200mm, 100-400mm. Actually Asahi man gave the hint many times, something interesting is coming.

If itīs like the internal Roadmap,we will see the ca.150-450 and the 2,8 70-200 for fullframe.
70-200 is a * Lens on this map,so it will have SDM.
New Version.
But i have no information if there are any changes since i got the confirmation about the lenses.
Next wil be some optical stuff for 645.
I think ready to buy in the end of first half 2015.
The development need 2-3 years, than a production run for one year till itīs ready for the market.
Normally i will get the new stuff for testings and i will report about this again."

Will be interesting to see what the maximum aperture of the long zoom is...the f6.3 of the Simga 150-500 is a bit of a handicap when light levels are low...

Too much negativity here .....6-7 years ago we had the K10D and nothing else, about two years ago we had: K5, K30, 645D and the Q.
Now we have: K3, K5IIs, K50, K500, Q7, Q-S1, K-S1, XG-1, and the new 645Z and new lenses coming.....looks like improvement to me
CHRIST PEOPLE, STOP WHINGING!

Yup, can't see it being any faster though, especially if it's 450mm.Will be interesting to see what the maximum aperture of the long zoom is...the f6.3 of the Simga 150-500 is a bit of a handicap when light levels are low...
Canon's 100-400mm is 5.6, Sony 70-400mm is also 5.6. The Canon 200-400mm f4 is megabucks, the Nikon 200-400mm is about half the cost of the Canon but they all max out at 400mm.

I can't see it reaching 450 myself 400mm maybe, if it did, it wouldn't be very compact and pentaxy, (Word?) then would it? Ricoh does not seem to have strayed from the ethos... yet...
If it were 450mm and F5.6 the filter size tops out at just over 80mm, as far as I know Pentax bodies still only guarantee AF up to F5.6, so a something to 400mm with a 77mm filter size, would seem more appropriate?
