I've been using Microsoft's Edge for a while and I've just updated to a new version. To me, the text on the forum pages is less distinct. Anyone found the same. or is it just me

Just had quick a look at it, and it looks the same to me as it does in FF.

I use Firefox as my default and only use the new Edge occasionally for things Firefox doesn't like.
The new version of Edge is an improvement on the old, but the bar was set pretty low on that.

The latest Microsoft Edge is built on Google Chrome, why not just use the best?

It's some time ago now, but I think I switched to Edge because I was having trouble with Google

Because not everybody wants Google knowing everything about them?

I use Firefox and DuckDuckGo. I hate having to have an Android phone. Can't afford an iPhone.

Look for a refurbished Windows phone?

I had a WIndows phone. I loved it, but Windows phones are dead now, completely useless. Android is awful in comparison but Windows never got the app support it should have had.

It's hard to know how it works out globally but we've just been looking at our camera club website stats and overwhelmingly people seem to be using iPhones or Google Chrome.
Best regards, John

Got Edge on several m/c's and don't like it (too many "hints" as to what to watch!) - sticking with Firefox (except on SWMBO's m/c - she apparently likes Edge :shock

Don't have - won't have an android - period. Just a tracker by any other name. Listens, watches, follows, tracks, spies & reports... Don't even get me started on Alexa and the like!!!

What you need are lenses, more lenses, bigger lenses, better lenses, faster lenses, vintage lenses and when you have these, your pictures will be perfect!

We both have Motorola Android phones and (Huawei!) Android tablets - but don't use any of those for any "financial" or similar "sensitive" stuff - and no webcams (except on the laptops - with tape over the cameras) or Alexa (etc.), and the latest LG TV was partially chosen because it does NOT have a camera.
And no intention of letting IoT kit into the house!

Edge isn't built on Google Chrome. It's built around Chromium, as is Google Chrome.

Do you prefer Microsoft to know everything about you?

Really, there's no difference. All such companies collect whatever data they can, that's the currency they run on. What real impact does it have? I see targeted ads in whatever browser or platform I'm using, instead of random ads for things I neither want nor need. I rarely click on those ads or have my buying tendencies swayed by them, though I do remember a fully working Pentax MX and 50/1.4 I got for €19 being down to one of those targeted ads.

I use Chrome for personal stuff and Firefox for work, which provides a good separation for me. After at least ten years of use, I could could on one hand the number of times I've had problems with Chrome not being fully compatible with a website, with the last example being the H&M website a few weeks ago, but I can't remember the time before that, it must have been years ago.
