New(?) Lens

OK, so I suffer from low level GAS. My latest attack resulted in a 50-200mm ED lens. Cheap, but the results with the K10D aren't too bad.

My (sort of) Eggleston tribute!

Not a lot of post-processing; just some cropping, slight increase in brightness/contrast and sharpened a bit for resizing and Flickr.

One thing I like about it (apart from its apparent lack of CA and reasonable sharpness) is that it focuses to just over a metre and with not a lot of cropping you can get in close and throw the background well out of focus.

I prefer 'unconventional'.
But I'm willing to compromise and accept 'eccentric'.

I agree with you entirely. I've found mine to be an excellent lens.

I was never very fond of mine until after I sold it. It was never long enough for a lot of my needs. It wasn't the sharpest of lenses but the bokeh was smooth and beautiful.

I've often been amazed at seeing the bokeh from this lens even though I've never had one.

A 50-210mm for FF would make a lot more sense than the old and restricted 70-210mm which means you have to change lenses to get a standard/normal 50mm view.

I've got the old 45-125mm FF, but haven't yet tried it on the K-1. Supposed to have been designed jointly with Zeiss.

Oops. Just noticed a slight error in the OP - it's the DA, not the ED. Sorry about that.

Still like it though.
