The National Railway Museum (NRM) can be a bit challenging for photographers with some tight spaces/angles and the clustering of visitors around the more popular exhibits (i.e. Mallard). A little patience is often necessary.

I would have taken a step or two forward to lose the fence around the turntable pit in #2 and a few steps to the right to view the clear side of the loco in #3.

Wide angle lenses are useful in places like the NRM, and other museums, so you can get in close and avoid as much extraneous clutter as possible. You also need to use quite high ISOs as setting up a tripod when its busy can be a nuisance. But its a great place to visit as its it's sister museum, Locomotion at Shildon and the Great Western Museum at Swindon.
