Is there no socket for the electronic cable release? All the pentax bayonet bodies will take your AF lenses, operating within the limits of the various bodies. Why not go for the MZ5n or MZ3, both of which accept the electronic release.

Chris, Pentax have, as John says, gone down the route of using an electronic release, just like most of the other camera manufacturers. If you prefer to continue to use a old plunger style cable release you can buy a cable release adaptor that screws into the tripod socket and has an arm that is positioned over the shutter release. There's a hole here that the cable release screws into. Then when you press the plunger it presses down on the shutter release button to fire the shutter. A bit crude and cumbersome so the electronic option would be better. You can buy an electronic release from Pentax User for £28 inc postage.

The cable release for the MZ6 is a new electronic design designated CS-205. The old electronic release that fits the SF series eg. SFXn and the earlier members of the MZ series eg MZ5n;will not fit the MZ6. I have been trying to get hold of the new CS-205 release for some weeks and have asked Jacobs to order one for me.
