Thanks for looking and for the comments. Could a mod kindly move this to Your Photos. I'm not sure how it ended up in General Chat, middle age does strange things.

The pictures are excellent Adrian, but I already knew that before looking at your portfolio. I'm not competent to comment on the design and effectiveness of your website as I've had no experience in setting up a site myself but it looks good to my inexpert eye.

Very pleasing all round: photographs and website. I had to chuckle at your predicament: wanting to specialize in coastal photography yet finding yourself in the Limousin. Living as I do in a part of England pretty much furthest from the sea, I sympathize...

Well done Adrian, it is an excellent site. I need to take a leaf from your book and go through my own website, deleting images that simply don't cut the mustard. The problem is that style, technique and skill all evolve and what I thought was decent 2 years ago is now rubbish to my eyes and I have not been ruthless enough to sort the wheat from the chaff.
I think your approach is right and you've inspired me to get on and sort out my website too.
I think the overall look and feel is good - looks like Foliopic to me which is a little restrictive but works pretty well and loads quickly.
A good job all round I think.

This has been moved from Your Photos, basically because the thread doesn't contain any photos. This thread is about your website, which is fine.
Best regards, John

Thanks for looking. My guest book should be activated. I tried to add a blog today which I think it needs otherwise there is no need to go back there. But that seems to be an extra and the upgrade price is rather steep compared to other sites. Plus the user interface is not as customisable as I would like so I think I'll look out for other options. Zenfolio seems to offer all I need for a very reasonable price and I like what AG has just done too.

Just visited your website, very nice, superb images and i must start getting around to deleting 3/4 of my pics and just pick out the ones i feel are worthy of creating my own website, it will take an age though

There are certain things I'd like to change about the website and I'm a bit restricted by the unalterable parts of the template, but basically I'm satisfied with the overall look for the first attempt. I've still got some images to finalise and a bit of chop and changing to do. For me the whole exercise draws a line under my first four years as a photographer and has helped me gather my thoughts and understand what I do well and what I don't do well. The apprenticeship will never stop of course but I now feel ready to focus on a few areas, put a lot more effort into it and hopefully start producing some decent stuff. I might even print a photo at some point.
Please feel free to stop by and tell me what you think.
