No, all second hand. I have only bought two new SLRs: my original ME Super in 1982, and my K10D in 2007. The LX and MX were bought in 2005, the KX about three weeks ago.

Another thing that comes to mind is the gold 'Approved' sticker on the MX. Every time I buy an old lens, it has one of these stickers on it. What was wrong with people in the 70s? Didn't they ever feel the urge to remove the blasted things? 30 years later they are hard to get off!!!

I tend to see it as a good sign if the "approved" sticker is still there - evidently the item has had a pretty easy life if a paper label is still intact and legible!
Still keeping an eye out for a sub-£70 40mm pancake for my MX, people seem to have the idea that they're rare and should go for £100+...

Easy. The LX. The most accurate lightmeter of any camera I have ever used, interchangeable viewfinders, built like a tank except for the ASA/exposure compensation dial biut not huge and bulky, sensible metering system in the viewfinder... Gareth... yes the 100mm is a tiny little thing. I was inspired to get one by John R. who sung its praises. I got the correct clip-on lens hood for it today.

For a bit of fun I took some shots of my three X's, the KX, LX and MX.
1. The trio of Xs
2. The KX with SMC 35mm f/3.5 lens
3. The LX with SMC 50mm f/1.2, grip B and FA-1W viewfinder.
4. The MX with SMC-M 40mm f/2.8 pancake lens.
5. The LX with the same lens but with the LX power winder and an AF280T flashgun.
6. The MX with an MX power winder and a SMC-M 100mm f/2.8 lens.
