I keep searching for it.
It does look great.
I was suggesting somewhere else that I would like a DSLR that looked like and had the simplicity of a Spotmatic F, a lot of 'likes' from non Pentax users at the idea

The Spotmatic F is much later, about 1972-3 I think. It has stop down metering and with the SMC Takumars definately meters with the diaphragm open closing the aperture to the correct f stop when the shutter is fired.
I have two Spotmatic Fs and I think they are great.
There is a nice neat phrase and name for this but I can't think of it at this time of the morning (I blame my baby for shouting all night!).

I took the base plate off my 1960's SVwith a small screwdriver in a 'spectacle repair kit'from Maplins ( fits the Japanese screws )-- well it had not been serviced for 40 years -- so I put ONE DROP of Three-in-One oil into a dish and picked up a touch on the end of some fuse-wire and touched the cogs and moving parts and it all winds on so sweetly now -- I have been told that '3-in-one' is NOT the best lube, better sewing machine oil or watch oil but no probs so far ----

IIRC the Spotmatic F metering is always 'on' when an SMC-Tak is attached - using a lens cap might turn it 'off' like the K1000 though?
