MX Flash Problem

David,
If the MX is like most of the other Pentax bodies, the lower PC terminal is correct for electronic flash. (Marked "X"?) I assume your flash has such a cable? If so, it is usable.
It would help us if you could tell us the make and model of the flash in question. Very often the problem is with the flash's hot shoe terminal. Is there another flash you can try?
Good luck

Some years ago my MX packed up flashing on a job and I had to use the 'Open Flash' method (luckily it was in a dark school passage way )- it turned out I had taken so many flash photos the contacts were burned out !
