Was reading an article on Macro photography and the person said this was a good tripod for doing this type of thing, with the center column horizontal and head replaced with a focusing rail, camera pointing down.

Any opinions of this tripod, it doesn't seem overly expensive.

Looks like it would do the job. You might also look at the Vanguard Alta Pro 263AT with teh SBH-100 ball head. I have been very impressed with mine.
Capture: Pentax K-1, PENTAX HD PENTAX-D FA 24-70mm F2.8 ED SDM WR, PENTAX 100mm f/2.8 WR Macro, SAMYANG 14mm F2.8 ED AS IF UMC, SAMYANG 35mm F1.4 AS UMC, • SAMYANG 85mm F1.4 AS IF UMC

Processing: Adobe Bridge for organisation, DxO Optics Pro Elite for RAW development, ON1 Photo RAW for some 'stylising' and Affintiy Photo for more involved edits.

Thanks for that. I have looked at the adverts for the Vanguard (Premier Inks IIRC) in the mags also at an affordable price. I do think personal recommendations are worth a lot more than an advert in a mag

I'm looking for a tripod as well and after reading this noticed that someone on Ebay has the Vanguard for a good price. Might be worth a look.
