Yes it would, but you will lose infinity focus with that one due to the flange around the outside. A better alternative to the £64 original one is one of these: link
I've used a few of them. They're okay, and work fine, but the original Pentax one is better construction and is easier to screw on and off. This might not be an issue if you're planning on leaving it a certain lens semi-permanently.

Question probably asked many times by now, but I am still confused reading all responses, due to many types of m42 lenses.
I just got a Zenit 12XP camera with a HELIOS-44M-4 lens (58mm?).Could you point me in right direction as to what converter ring do I need to mount it on K100D?
