Hefty - I don't think that PhotoMe works on a Mac - and the OP uses a Mac .
Have to say that I get full details about my settings etc in iPhoto without problems

Thanks for the information I didn't think to search for another EXIF Viewer.
I found one for a Mac it is EXIF VIEWER 2.7.and gives all the information
The programmes I use are iPhoto the photo browser for Mac and any adjustments I use Pixelmator which is similar to Photoshop but not so full blown, but is only for Mac

I will be speaking to Apple in Glasgow to find out why I don't get the full information from photos taken by a Pentax when I get all the information from my photos taken with Nikon and Fuji.

On a Mac you can just open the image in Preview and the choose the 'get info' command. You don't need any third party software. One of the tabs will be 'Exif'. If there is no Exif tab it means the image was 'saved for the web' and has no exif data.

I do get some information in the 'get info' such as shutter speed, aperture size, focal length, but not Exposure:- This would normally state if I took the photo in Landscape, Aperture etc. As I have said this information is given when I take photos with Nikon or Fuji cameras, but somehow not with Pentax Optio X90

The X90 is quite a recent camera so if your software (be it the OS itself or third party) predates it then it'll probably need updating with new camera profiles. It's a shame you can't run PhotoMe as that seems to add new profiles on an almost daily basis but I'm sure Apple will be on the case soon enough.

Bevnel - I'm bemused by this problem of yours.
I'm using a K-x and iPhoto 09 . My system is Snow Leopard fully updated to 10.6.4
In iPhoto I go to Photos --> extended Photo Info and get the following
Image - width , height, original date , digitised date
File - name , size , modified , imported
Location - never seen any entires in this as yet
Camera - maker, model, software
Exposure - shutter, aperture, maximum aperture , exposure bias, exposure, exposure index, focal length, distance sensing, light source, flash, metering, brightness, ISO
Some of the options on here are not normally showing any information - Location, max aperture, exposure index, distance, light source, brightness .
I shoot , at present , in jpeg - though this will probably change this year.

Hmm I'm not sure I understand. So you get some EXIF info, like shutter speed, aperture, focal length. That seems to have 'exposure' covered pretty well What is it that's missing? Is it just the text that says 'landscape' or 'portrait'?

My layout of information is the same as yours except I have iphoto 08
On your photo you have Exposure: Aperture Priority which gives the setting you choose.
This is the part missing on my info when I use the Pentax but not on with Fuji.
I will just have to live with it.

Maybe if you can post a photo with the EXIF complete someone can see if it includes that in PhotoMe, or whether it is the nature of the X90 EXIF not to include that information?

I've been going back over some old Photos - many of which were taken on P&S Olympus and Kodak cameras not to mention a more recent HP Photosmart one and they have all had basic info in them . Most of them were originally in iPhoto 08 or even earlier
The Fuji S5000 actually managed to give more detail - but it was a better camera Actually I have to admit it was a shame that it finally turned up it's toes on me - it would have taught me a lot .

I am new to this forum and have just bought the X90 and am so far very pleased, but I find when checking the EXIF file of any photos the part at Exposure is blank.
When I took photos with my Fuji it would state the mode, such as Normal, Aperture etc.
I save my photos in iPhoto on a iMac.
Can anyone help to remedy this.
