I've never seen the hood, I guess it is even rarer than a working copy of the lens!

What were Pentax thinking, putting the motor in the lens was never going to catch-on

The left/right arrows were present in the SFX(n) but omitted in the Z-1 and subsequent cameras. They were useful with Pentax lenses but most independent ones focus the 'wrong' way.
Swings and roundabouts and all that. I must admit that I never really look at the little arrows. It is so similar to the ME Super that I just focus on the ground glass as I always did when I was young...

Lots of film bodies, a couple of digital ones, too many lenses (mainly older glass) and a Horseman LE 5x4.

I'm still looking! Has anyone seen a Chinon lens of the same design? Do the words HENS TEETH OR ROCKING HORSE DROPPINGS COME TO MIND?
CHEERS Vic.
Born again biker with lots of Pentax bits. Every day I wake up is a good day. I'm so old I don't even buy green bananas.

Spotted an MEF 35-70 AF zoom on ebay (seller isn't sure if it's working or not): link

Ooo, did I get a bargain?

I picked up a working lens to go with my MEF.

For only £25, the down side is a slight touch of what could be fungus...

When I've got time I'll try and use it to see how good it is, until then
Cheers, HG

It's weird this thread should be resurrected, I've just mentioned looking at Olympus in another thread, specifically the Om30

A working 35-70 for £25 is a stunning bargain. The ebay listing for £170 is hopelessly optimistic!

I don't know what a 'fair' price would be. If you put enough 'ultra rare collectable' key words in the listing, somebody somewhere with more cash than sense may go for it. Although I'd have thought you'd have checked whether it worked before listing it 'for spares, not working' if you intended to check it during the week of the auction.

Looks good HG quite a good lens on film.... sharp
even wide open. With an MEF working or not is really
all that matters. I've seen mint ones that don't work.
