Pentax SV

After a few people on Pentaxforums.com sung the praises of the Pentax SV I picked up a broken one for peanuts then got Eric Hendrickson to repair it for me. It has just got back from Eric and is now loaded with Ilford Delta 100 film. I have fitted it with one of my earliest lenses, an Auto-Takumar 55mm f/1.8. This one, however, has an automatic aperture like the later Super Tak, but the aperture ring goes the "wrong" way round. That'll confuse me...

Lots of film bodies, a couple of digital ones, too many lenses (mainly older glass) and a Horseman LE 5x4.

Lovely.

It's essentially a Spotmatic without a meter. As the meter doesn't work on my Spottie, I shall henceforth think of it as an SV.

Did you get the lens serviced too? I have a couple of 55s, but there is a slight trace of roughness in the focus movement. A tiny bit of grit no doubt.

Kris, I wish you'd stop showing that Pentax tripod

I've ended up with two of those tripods. There was another in the job lot of stuff I bought a little while back. K.

The last big job lot was a lady who came on here asking about selling her Dad's camera equipment. In the end I bought the lot for a fair price, sold on what I didn't want and kept the rest.

No, it is just one I had hanging around. I use Alan Marlowe for lens repairs/service. He did a very nice job of removing a touch of fungus from the rear element of a S-M-C Takumar 135mm f/2.5.
