I am looking at buying the following but would appreciate peoples thoughts as to which they think would be the best choice and reasons why please.

Pentax 100mm f2.8 SMC D-FA WR Macro or Tamron SP AF 90mm f/2.8 Macro 1:1 Di

Many thanks
Fletcher8.

It has to be the D-FA WR. It's WR. It's metal. It's compact. It's got rounded aperture blades. It's a thing of beauty. However the Tamron is cheaper and slightly sharper!

If money was no object I'd go for the Pentax, for the rounded aperture. WR isn't a big deal for me. Whether that's worth the extra £200-ish is down to you

Would say the WR as it's a joy to use, metal construction, WR, rounded aperture blades, small and compact, works really well with the Pentax ring flash.

But then I have a mint Tamron for sale in the classifieds for £225, so I'm torn as to what to recommend!

Haven't had my hands on the Pentax so can;t comment but have the Tamron and have to say I prefer my Sigma 105
No matter how many lenses I have owned - I have always needed just one more
