a male to male adapter to mount an extra 50mm lense
Tom you've given me some ideas to try, where can I get an adapter? I would want a 49-52 adapter. I've looked on ebay and I got no joy from that. I also asked at a Jessops store, not in their catalogue anymore. The friendly assistant suggested SRB in Luton. Any suggestions anybody?a male to male adapter to mount an extra 50mm lense
As always - thanks.

Try Speed Graphic

Though these are only lens to body adaptors - I'm sure they do the reversing filter adaptors though.
Jessops appear to have them

Silly price though

I'm a bit late to the party, but thats an absolute cracker of a shot Tom.
I spent a good part of last summer sticking dollops of blackcurrent jam to the wall in my back garden with a the D set down low, bellows and everything trying to get a close encounter with my ant squatters but they were always to quick, or I missed the light..... I gave up and started chasing the Hover flys instead (have a look at my pbase gallery for the shot).

Yep - SRB in Luton is definately the place to try. If they haven't got one I don't know who will...TomNitti said:

Do you mean you want to mount a lens normally then reverse mount another lens to the front of that?where can I get an adapter? I would want a 49-52 adapter.
If so the then what about bonding a couple of "Cokin" filter system lens rings together with epoxy resin or similar?

I bought my reversing ring from "that auction site".

Re Where can I get an adapter?
Under generalChat there is a thread listing different suppliers. One of those listed is Denton Photo Optics -
email [email protected]
Phone 0161 336 4603
fax 0161 336 4603
web http://www.ukcamera.com/denton/collectors.htm
He does not "do" digital, but he does a variety of lens adapters etc. I have used him a number of times- including for a connector ring (to back one lens onto another, ie male thread on each side). Give him a 'phone call and explain what you want and he may be able to fix you up. In my case the connector ring in stock was the same size thread on each side so we added a stepper ring to make the desired connector.
It worked fine - it was my skill that was somewhat lacking.

With a shot like that, I reckon you could have a good go at the Wildlife Photographer of the Year competition - they've got categories for different age groups, and these are often birds or mammals, but a pic like this could really stand out for the judges.
They're just about to start accepting entries for the 2007 competition, details are found from the link below:
