like or hate K-5?

So how many times do you take the card out? I just hook up the camera to the computer with the cable, one just lives in the camera the other is a spare 2 gb ,that gets used if I'm away from the computer . Is using a card reader faster or better ? and why have Pentax changed from the press once and release method that just about anything that uses sd cards has... Eye-fi sound cool ,what sort of range do they have ?
will a K100 support one ?...jeff...

I have been out this morning and got a Micro SD Card adapter, makes life soooo easy getting the card out, very good suggestion.

I keep reading people banging on about how difficult it is swapping the SD card in a K-7/5. What are you talking about, it couldn't be easier...
Simply hold the camera in your left hand and with your right index finger slide the cover backwards, this reveals the card, press it with the tip of your right index finger which makes it poke up. Then place the tip of your right index finger behind it and grasp between index finger and thumb and remove from the slot.
EASY!
How can trying to hook your fingernail into the lip of a micro SD card be easier?

I think the clearance between the door and the sd card was made to measure by far eastern people with smaller hands and fingers than europeans. The slot/door problem for people with large hands/fingers is a design fault due to this IMHO

So when you press it in against the spring it won't pop out at least 10 mm and therefore clear of the door like on my K100 ? If thats the case my big farmers hands don't have a chanceI think if I had a k7 /k5 I'd leave the card in it.... jeff....

Well, I got small hands but I've never had any problem with the SD-slot. My computer on the other hand sometimes hold on to the card very hard and only gives me about 2mm to grip on to.

I have just moved from a K20D to a K5 and have been delighted with the upgrade. Sometimes you can spend money upgrading to question afterwards why did I bother...this to me has not been the case with the camera giving me the range, noise control and ISO that I was looking for.

I too find the card door and removal quite fiddly but I have found is that if you push the card down with your finger nail and flick it like playing tiddly winks..it pops out..sometimes clearing the camera and ending up on the carpet!

I agree with the comment about the shake reduction switch and I also find myself hitting the live view button by mistake.

I find the K5 a great piece of kit..

On low ISO, my K200 beats my K5 (or so it seems). High ISO, the K5 is so much better than the K200.

I have no problems with the SD card - well, once it was a bit stiff.

Shake reduction is simple to change with Info screen.

Overall - the K5 is an excellent camera. Many more positives than negatives.
