Have downloaded a copy of lightroom 2.5. They say it is intuative. I cannot get going with this programme. Can someone guide me to the best book/tutorial for a dummy. Maybe someone has a redundant copy that will get on the way. I do not want to spend much in case I find I do not want to keep the programme. It is a thirty day trial copy.

Try Scott Kelby's LR2 book, £14ish on Amazon (half price at the mo.!)

Excellent book, as always from him

Search for Lightroom in iTunes, you'll find several good podcast tutorials.

Lightroom for Digital Photographers is one I can recommend.

Top tip: avoid typos in any post that you make when commenting on grammar or spelling.

Otherwise, people even more pedantic than you will feel obliged to comment also...

Personally, I think that American though it be, it's quite handy to be able to distinguish between a computer program (sic) and either a TV programme, or a programme of events, without resorting to the context.

So when did we become the 51st state?
The meaning of programme (whichever spelling you use) is exactly the same, a list of events, which is what a computer programme is, a list of events for it ti follow.

I think you've missed Chris's point by several miles. Check carefully the spelling of each word in your previous post (Chris has left a clue in his). In a post where you make any kind of comment about spelling and/or grammar, it's best that you make 100% certain that your own house is in order before doing so.

You might need one or more of these

"Program" has been the accepted spelling for decades in Britain for a computer program.

Remember anyway that Americans got their spelling from old English. You could argue that they are more correct than we!

Hi thoramay. Lightroom is a little different to use initially but well worth some study. I suggest looking at various tutorials online. Its a great programme once you understand what workflow to use. Just google Lightroom tutorials.
cheers
