Thanks guys.

Unlocker: Cost is prohibitive. I can see the benefits, but my iMac is pretty portable at a pinch. The iPad is actually faster than the 11 inch isn't it?

Glowingblue: are you talking about Lightroom?

gartmore: Lightroom?

Yes, had a quick look and it seems pretty intuitive but as far as I can see you have to load the pics into your PC first. If that is the case then Photogene seems a better bet

The 11" standard is twice as fast as an iPad air, 10x an iPad 2, faster processors are options too, faster again on the 13"

Don't forget other options like multiple back ups to external drives that you can't do with the iPad etc. Sure it's not cheap but 0% finance is available every now and again!

Don't forget that buying kit for business purposes is off-set against profits, etc.

Still has to be paid for and unless VAT registered is only going to save you 20% on the income tax bill.

If you are going to go for a high spec Macbook Air then you may as well go the whole hog and get a MBP Pro Retina

To be honest though since I bought my iPad Mini Retina it goes everywhere with me, I started wearing cargo trousers just so I could carry the iPad in the side pocket. Its a fantastically powerful piece of tech.

Just had a look at the iPad mini in Tesco. It's clearly up to the job. I was worried the screen was too small, but it's fine; clearly a superior screen to the others, which is critical.
Does anyone know if I can use my iPhone's 'Personal Hotspot' facility to get an internet connection on the iPad?

Any tech purchase I make exclusively for business use is written down 100% against profits, otherwise a percentage based on business/private usage.

It's still only a 20 percent saving. It's still eating away at the profit.

Yes this is how I use my iPad mini with the iPhone 5s, once it's setup just forget about it as it works by itself

The mini is so much better than the full size, fits in the hand a lot better too.
