I've spoken to my PC man today and unfortunately my tower is not able to hold a second drive. So I'll have to just continue with external drive backups for now.
Must be a tiny case to only hold one drive. Never heard of that in all my 20 years of using PCs

I thought the same when I read this last night, in all my years of putting together home brew PC's I've yet to find a case, especially a tower that won't take 2 HD's, even micro format boards have 4 IDE drive sockets.

Just out of curiosity, can you post a pic of your PC with the case cover removed?
Cheers
Brian.

You're "PC man" is talking nonsense. You've got a spare 5.25" slot free below the 2 DVD drives for starters. All you need is a couple of quid spent on 5.25 to 3.5 adaptor plates

There's also plenty of room at the bottom of the case to hold at least three HDDs.

Just need a couple of plates

Looks like there's a spare Sata port in blue, well from a distance anyway.

Does one really need 2x optical drives?

You can get PCI to SATA cards cheap anyway.

Thanks again to you all, but I'm afraid most of this is over my head now. However I'll take the photos down to the shop and see what happens from there.

You've got 3 SATA devices hooked up aleady. It's likely the Motherboard won't have less than four SATA ports, so at least there's room to hook up one other drive. if you want more you can get PCI cards with SATA Slots on for exapansion.

There's no physical reason why you can't fit more drives in the case. The PC Shop will sort you out And get another "PC man"

It looks to me like they have located the PSU in the wrong place, it should normally be in the top left (as the picture is) leaving space at the bottom right for all sorts of bits n bobs.
