Lightroom 3 question

Hi Everyone

Not sure if this is the right place to ask but I'm here now. If I'm in Lightroom 3 and I've done what I need to do to a picture and then export it to photoshop for some final editing, once in photoshop and I've finished doing what was needed how do I get it back into lightroom again.

you don't...it's no longer RAW when it's in PS. Why do you need it in LR again?

Save it as PSD (with compatibility on) or as TIFF if you want to edit it further (lightroom can read and edit those) or else something like JPG would do the trick.

Thank you. I just found that once I had edited it in photoshop and saved the image as a jpeg on my desktop then dragged it back into my lightroom library that once i deleted the jpeg on the desktop it would not open up in lightroom and said it was a missing file.

That makes sense, Richard. The Lightroom library is just a series of links that point to the location of the images. If you move or delete the image, Lightroom can't find it because it's not where you told it it was.

As Stefan says, if you want to continue editing in Lightroom after Photoshop, save it as either a .psd or .tiff file rather than .jpg.

When you choose the "Edit in Photoshop" option, tick the box at bottom left, "Stack with original". When you have finished editing in Photoshop, save the file as a .PSD/.TIFF/.JPG and it will be placed in the same folder as the original.
