Cost of imported goods is going up as the value of the Pound falls. All items are not affected at the same time because different companies have different marketing strategies.
This is going to affect practically everything sooner or later, not just camera equipment.

Think there is also abit of reverse discretionary spend at work here as well; People who buy photographic (particularly digital) equipment have high disposable incomes. They may complain about price hikes, but they still buy the goods. Just look at the way digital slr sales keep rising, in a recession?

Obviously knowing what LBA means and already doing the maths on possible profits made by selling those lenses.
Sorry Eric, you already have been struck with LBA. Your wallet just doesn't know it , yet....

I was just going to put it on eBay and see what happened. The last few on here have gone by without any real interest.

Has yours got a price ticket on it of £699.99?
No wonder they hardly sold any Pentax gear ....

No, not set a price for it I was just going to see what happens. I am really pleased with the quality of images produced but the exif data shows I mainly use the wide end (above 17) so I thought the 17-70 will be better for me and will reduce the need for the 28-75 Tamron I have also, thus lens lens swapping (Tammy listed for £250). If the 17-70 is as good as the 12-24 then happy days. Then I plan to get the 60-250 next when it finally gets here, freeing up the Sigma 70-300 (also to be listed on eBay).
Well thats the plan

Sigma prices have really shot through the roof!
Been keeping an eye on the prices of the 100-300 F4 as I may sell mine to fund a possible DA*60-250mm purchase. Price at SRS was £759, now £1159, a £400 rise or to put it another way, over 50% rise!
Just hoping that this really pushes up the 2nd hand prices!

Yes post it up here if you're selling. A private arrangement on here doesn't line ebay & paypals pockets. Just for info, I sold at £375 all-in. You may get over £400 on ebay but you'll give ebay £40 & paypal a tenner or more so why not sell here ? more money in both parties pockets.

Its a bit of a moral dilemma posting it up here for sale as I brought the item from Jessops in their sale, but I would like to raise enough money from it to buy a new Pentax smc DA 17-70mm F4 ED (IF) SDM Lens from SRS, being £329. To get around my moral dilemma I thought listing it on eBay would find its natural price that people are happy to pay.
However I would like to sell the 28-75 before I let it go so as not to loose the wider end (from 17-2. For this I am considering listing them as a pair for sale at a good price.
Hope that makes sense

I dont think there is a moral dilemma to be honest, the fact you got the lens at a decent price makes no difference .. you sell at the price people are willing to pay and the 12-24mm is worth around £400 especially as its virtually brand new.
Just out of interest did you get a pouch with yours or do you know if one is supposed to be included?
