No because it's design for a smaller area (sensor) then 35mm film.
It will work though but you will have massieve vignetting, not something you want
Most of the longer DA lenses are usable for 35mm btw.
They have tested some lenses on the USA forum, here have a look link

Thanks for the response. So vignetting would be the only problem ? It would work fine in all other respects ?

I don't know the mz-5, the other problem is that you don't have an aperture ring on the lens so if the camera works with an auto aperture (A- mode on the aperture ring) it's okay to use them. I believe the mz-5 can do that but I ain't 100% sure so don't take my word for it.
Besides that I haven't heared of any problems but I won't reccomend to use the 18-55 on a film camera because of the vignetting.

I am selling a Pentax DA 18-55mm mark 2 lens on ebay and have been asked the following question.
is this compatible with pentax mz-5 Autofocus?
Does anyone know the answer to this ?
