Let's hope any replacement is as good as the KR and a realistic price.

It would be nice to have a new body as well, above the KR level but below the K5.

Pentax need a 'range' of DSLRs for people to progress through. We're not all Pro standard or beginners so a decent mid range body would be more than welcome.
Cheers, HG

K110+DA40, K200+DA35, K3 and a bag of lenses, bodies and other bits.

Mustn't forget the Zenits, or folders, or...

PPG entries.

Lets hope that when they bring out the replacement for the Kr they realise that some people will want to use a remote shutter from behind the Camera, got to be the most annoying feature of the Kr that you have to be in front of the Camera for the Remote to work.

Taking into account all the color options it may look like what was shown here :

Personally I'd have liked to see the KR continue. Mine will be in use for some time yet I hope. I do wish they'd stop tempting me with cheaper K5's though

A pentaprism and a quiet shutter will do me when the time comes.

Oooh, a vaguely camera-shaped blurry blob. How exciting.

From the 'other forums' (emphasis mine):

Quote:
Based on a new leaked image, it looks like the successor to the Pentax K-r will be called the "K-z". While this remains a rumor, it seems quite credible at this point, and we expect to learn more about this upcoming camera in the coming days.

Pentax is already being criticized for this name choice, as "KZ" is a known abbreviation for the German word for "concentration camp". Let's hope that the name ends up changing, or that we've misinterpreted the blurred image!
...Apparently not a major problem for the many others who have used the same letter combination, including the entire country of Kazakhstan...

But for those inside Kazakhstan, a brutal dictatorship, KZ is perhaps appropriate.

Most interesting is that any entry to mid level replacement for my excellent KR would have to be well sub £700 or I'd be buying that 'cheap' K5 (that my long suffering wife keeps pretending to ignore when I mention it!)

Back to following that ladybird around my patio!
