I agree, I tested it for EPZ and it's a fantastic camera. Loved it!

Same here. The K-r is fantastic, especially now that a good used one can be had for £200 or less, but so far the K-30 edges it a little and at £319 with 2 year warranty there was no contest.

I just wanted to see a response from happy Kr owners!
Replaced my wonderful K100D Super with the Kr which is such a fast camera. Yet I feel that it is undervalued.
I don't mind because I will not subscribe to the "mine is better than yours" mindset. I guess that I am just being cheeky!

I only recently upgraded to a K-r when srs did the deal on ex demo ones, I thought it was just too good a deal to pass up. I think I was right, and you're right, it's a very good camera. I just can't see me using my GX10 and K100D again . It's still early days but the af improvements for birding and other wildlife seems huge. I had been using my canon 30D and sigma 100-300 F4 lens for wildlife over the past year or so, but the K-r with my FA*300 F4.5 is just so light and small in comparison. Oh yeah and the K-r shutter sound is nice and quite compared to my K100D, although nowhere near as quite as the K-7 and K-5 I've used. I just wish they'd left the SR switch on the modern pentax dslr's (I think I'm going to miss the easy access to that). Only major blot on the horizon seems to be the K30 and it's amazing price.... but I think this is my first pentax since my Z-1 that I'm really happy with.... early days though and I can be fickle....

I think my post was motivated by envy! Envy of those who can afford the very latest models. I'd love to hear from Km/Kx/Kr owners who know best!

Hi Mac, I have a K-x and I love it! It takes great images and is really good in low light too. BUT, I also have a K-5 and I love that one more!I'd love to hear from Km/Kx/Kr owners who know best!

It's just better at everything. I won't be selling the K-x though, it gets used regularly as I always take both cameras when I go out on a shoot. I've also just sold a K-m, which I also loved, but one of them had to go.
Regards
David

I have both. Not had the K-30 long enough to rigorously test it but on comparitive performance so far I can't see much difference and the AF with the DA*300 is no different in speed.

I'm still using my 5 year old K100d Super. I did buy a KR and used it for a while giving the K100d to my daughter. Unfortunately not long after she accidently knocked it over when it was on a tripod and while it was in for repair I let her have the KR - she still has it and I use the K100d!! I thought the KR was an excellent camera and love the quality of the shots my daughter takes. I still love the K100d and knock out some ok A3's but must say the K30 at it's price at the moment is so tempting!!!
