that tamron is really good you say? its cheap!
i could afford that now
that might be a great starting point, then i could upgrade to the weather sealed lovely when i have some more money...
i would just keep it in the bag when i am at the beach
i managed to take my K10 all over the world without any issues with weather sealing, dispite only having basic lenses so i reckon that would be fine

That won't be very often then because if I know Wiltshire (my grandmother came from Devizes), you don't have too many beaches very close to you.i would just keep it in the bag when i am at the beach
Enjoy you knew friend.

Sounds a very logical approach if you ask me!

EDIT - I've just read Feeb's latest post. The only thing that would concern me regarding the 50-135 is it's AF speed. It's terribly slow, and I had problems keeping up with my daughter when I had a copy. I do hope it suits you! Good luck!
The SDM lenses are a lot faster on the K-5.

I'm on it my lens has just sold so tomorrow morning i plan to put the monies in the bank and grab myself the 50-135
now... i am wondering wether to get a Sigma or a Tamron 'fun' lens - it would have to be wide to cover something in that area but maybe a bit more fish-eye would be fun and then i could keep it when i get my wide zoom
soooo any suggestions - not toooo fish eye, but something that would make a festival look uber cool and be a bit more fun than just a 'normal' wide

The Sigma 10-20mm is a worthy candidate.

For my 2p's worth I'd go along with Giofi too - I have the Tamron 17-50 2.8 and it's pretty much on a par with the 16-50 IQ wise. For me the lack of weather sealing more than makes up for the significant price difference.
I too would suggest a K-5 for all the reasons Giofi stated; and if you get the Tamron 17-50 instead you'll have an extremely well rounded package for your needs which won't cost the earth.
