Just that really, is the full spec available and if so where. Have checked the Pentax site and as far as I can see it does not exist in there eyes, perhaps I stupidly missed it.

One thing no one seems to pick up on any of these cameras is that by not using bog standard "AA" batteries they will only be usable as long as the battery is available. They normally only last about 3 years and I can see the possibility of there being cameras in 5 years time unusable because you can't buy the batteries.

I've been caught out with batteries before with two products, the first was an expensive portable Aiwa DAT Recorder and the second was a Creative Jukebox 3. The problem was so bad with the latter that even SH batteries were going for £60 on ebay. Some enterprising people in Hong Kong have since brought out a battery and you can now get them for £15.

If you add the D-BG4 to the K-7, it holds 6 X AA or 1 X custom battery.

Then that's a must have (in the long term) for anyone buying the camera.

The grip is $250 on its own.
A bit different to what people have been paying for the K10D/K20D grip lately

This camera is amazing. Pentax have managed to improve on absolute perfection. From the specs on the UK site:

Quality Level Still:*(Good), **(Better), ***(Best), ****(Excellent)

"Best" is a superlative; an absolute.

I assume "Excellent" is like 110%.

Excellent is termed Premium on the K20D and merely relates to an even lower amount of JPEG compression. Best relates to the same that Best relates to in the K10D, so the nomenclature is logical, even if the English is technically flawed.

Shim, I wouldn't worry about batteries becoming obsolete. We can still get batteries for cameras over 40 years old, even though some early Yashica models are getting a bit tricky. There are some medical devices using the most obscure batteries and even these are still around some 30 tears on.

The new Pentax battery will no doubt become as common as the current one, given time.
Best regards, John

Give it a couple of years Mike, the D-BG2 has been around a while. The prices will come down.
