Shim, whatever are you trying to use? Actually I can't help with batteries, but ask me about obsolete glass plates, flash bulbs or dark slides and I will be a bountiful and wondrous supplier of treasures beyong imagination!
Best regards, John

Thanks, they have tabs on them which might be a bit awkward and I doubt if they would have the same instant power the Cadnica's used to have. I can use NiMh but instead of taking 7 secs for the ready light to come on it takes about 12 secs. I might try these Panasonic NiMh from 7Day they may be a bit more powerful linkShim, go to google, click on shopping, type in nicad c batteries, third link down, Maplins have them!
The flashguns a Sunpak Autozoom 5000 which is still probably more powerful than most of the stuff sold today...... I like doing bounce shots off the moon which is the only time I use it on full power normally it's about 1/8th which recycles instantly.
Bet you can't find a battery for this link
It does have a plugin AA external supply as well.

Shim, I wouldn't worry about batteries becoming obsolete. We can still get batteries for cameras over 40 years old, even though some early Yashica models are getting a bit tricky. There are some medical devices using the most obscure batteries and even these are still around some 30 tears on.
The new Pentax battery will no doubt become as common as the current one, given time.
NiMh and my last set of Sanyo Cadnica's died after only 20 years
of use
