Notice too that there were only two bids!
You prefer auctions with 100+ bidders!

It's set the price for future auctions

Not at all. Just making the point that Sony cameras don't seem to attract much attention. What if that had been a Pentax K511s.....?

Well one went for £844.27 today in the US and it had 31 bidders.

My name is Matty and an hour ago I just bought a A77 and a couple of CZ lenses,

Phew that feels better to get it out in the open, but a point of note will still be keeping my Pentax set up and using the Sony for one subject and the Pentax for another.
can you give us some details about the image quality - that would be great

Please remember this is Pentax User and the Sony A77 is definitely off topic.
Only used the OTHER camera quickly for about 200 shots this morning in good light and at iso 100-400, at my lads cricket match,so not really ready to give an in depth review of the difference in image quality, but cannot see any real world differences with images taken side by side at low iso maybe different when i crank up the iso,but I did capture images that I would of missed with my K5ii,everything is just that bit quicker and the evf is a joy to use.

What I can say is that I bought the OTHER camera for sports and wildlife subjects and will keep my PENTAX outfit for all other subjects.

Best to remember that many of our pure Pentax cameras have Sony sensors.

That said, my next camera will probably be another Pentax.

It remains the case that the number of photographers who truly 'need' FF, and can financially justify (in terms of future return) losing considerable amounts of money on re-establishing with a different system, is surely very limited. :

John. I know this site is sponsored? owned? by ephotozine and advertising is the life blood of sites like this, BUT how come we're not supposed to talk about other brands and yet there are adverts for Panasonic. Canon. etc. etc. etc.
Just a thought.
CHEERS Vic.
Born again biker with lots of Pentax bits. Every day I wake up is a good day. I'm so old I don't even buy green bananas.

You can Vic as long as it's not another brand body. Just look at the third party kit that Pentax users use when it comes to glass, flash or triggers etc. Surely though, a true Pentax User would only use Pentax?

The adverts are outside the direct control of Pentax User.

How much we're affected by what's going on with other brands depends on how we view the relationship between the gear itself and the actual photography. For me, the two (Pentax specifically & the actual pursuit) are almost one and the same - that's probably why I'm a bit of a camera settings geek - I link the equipment and technical process very closely to the actual picture taking mentally. So I hardly notice adverts for other cameras - just not on my radar.

I know plenty of others regard the actual equipment much more as 'just a tool' ... I agree with this of course, but for these people then its not so important what particular camera or brand they're using. This makes it more complicated (and expensive)if you're trying to get the best of all worlds. Then I guess you're radar is more widely tuned to new things and advances elsewhere.
