Thank you all.
I know about the Crumpler bag, I even have one and I really like the quality of them.
They are indeed quite heavy but they feel tough though.
I've tried out the Turkish Shower in the store I think it might fit but only just, just need to bring my gear to test that out.
But if the 18-135 enables me to leave the DA* lenses at home when I want to travel light then it might add some thing... but the lens need to be good enough to compete with the DA* lenses though or else I know I'll take the trouble and just carry the DA* with me everywhere.

I understand Stefan's dilemma. I have the range covered too, though with the 17-70 and 50-135, but having handled the lens and seen how fast the focus is on it, I am still mildly tempted by it. It would cover a lot of the range I use in one handy, weatherproof(ish) packet.
But I can't really afford it as well as the camera so I shan't be getting it. I don't want to sell the 17-70 to get it, though the 50-135 could go I suppose.... I don't use it all that much and F4 is generally fast enough for me. Hmmm.

I see the prices are dropping already in the Netherlands. I hope SRS name their price soon - maybe after the open day?

Gwyn you said the focus was pretty fast but I just read this on Falk Luma blog link
The focus motor appeared to be about as fast as a DA*16-50mm ultrasonic motor. Which isn't fast exactly. The DA 18-55 WR kit lens is a lot faster!
There also seems there will be no 1.4X TC coming

Think I will wait till next year and see how the prices are then it also gives time to see if any snags come to light on the camera.

And pay 5% extra VAT or isn't that going to be raised from 15% to 20% next year?

But then I would think the price of the K-5 will have dropped by more than 5% (2.5% actually) in that time.

Well I found it fast as did others who tried it. It was faster than other SDM lenses being tried on the K5 when I was there.

Seems we just have to wait till we can try it out in the shop. Well I found it fast as did others who tried it. It was faster than other SDM lenses being tried on the K5 when I was there.

Till what time? But then I would think the price of the K-5 will have dropped by more than 5% (2.5% actually) in that time.
I was thinking more in line that in December you might have a better deal then in January and February most likely.
But then again 2,5% isn't that much actually.

I see on the other forum that the US Pentax shop will have the K5 for sale tomorrow. Presumably the rest of the stores there won't be far behind.
Let's hope they've made enough that we get some in Europe soon too, and that they don't ship them all to the US instead.
If it became available this week I could still have one in time for my birthday .
