Now to sit and wait for the postman. Saturday would be miraculous, but hopefully on Monday. At least they still deliver parcels on Monday.
Gwyn - I don't know why I should have to be the first one to tell you this - but the whole K5 thing is a spoof.- Doesn't exist - No such thing - just a rumor to wind you up. You should have hung onto your K20D

You mean those were just plastic mock-ups designed to fool me at Photokina? Gwyn - I don't know why I should have to be the first one to tell you this - but the whole K5 thing is a spoof.- Doesn't exist - No such thing - just a rumor to wind you up. You should have hung onto your K20D

Totally off topic but why have they stopped postal deliveries in our country on a Monday? .. purely a financial thing or do you get deliveries on a Sunday? Now to sit and wait for the postman. Saturday would be miraculous, but hopefully on Monday. At least they still deliver parcels on Monday.
Sorry to upset the K-5 owners getting all excited atm .. just interested.

Mondays were always a quiet day - post would be delivered in the afternoon rather than the morning. Now due to the totally c**p state of things here they will only deliver urgent post on Mondays (death announcements and the like).
We don't have any post offices any more, and the posties are threatening to go on strike now, due to the numbers due to be sacked.
All down to privatisation and opening up the market. We now have three companies delivering mail. Two pay their deliverers per piece they deliver, and only deliver two days a week, the other, TNT (which is the mail part of the former state owned Dutch Post and Telecom company), want to sack a load of full time employees and go to part-timers to be able to compete with the other two companies.
It is a real mess.
I just hope they don't strike until after my camera gets here.

Well, and electronic communications. I hardly get anything by mail anymore, except the few pieces I order from faraway countries and greeting cards for x-mas. ...

Anyway! For the fiver I haven't seen any prices for my country yet. But ... that doesn't matter. I just checked the exchange rate and the Sterling seems to be in free fall Good for me Guess, I'll place an order with SRS soon - or maybe do my x-mas shopping in London.

I don't think it's any different in other countries though. And although I really hope that nothing interferes with the delivery of your camera, my sympathies lie with the posties that are due to be sacked.

Don't get me wrong Lidy. I have complete sympathy with them.
I hate the way TNT are going, both with regard to it's hard working and dedicated employees, and it's customer service.
Whilst e-mail and other electronic services have had some impact it is the introduction of the other two delivery services, with their appalling working terms and conditions, which result in a cheaper rate for businesses, which is really doing for TNT.
A friend of mine is due to be laid off by TNT after 20 years working part-time for them. She is too old to find another job easily and already getting depressed at the prospect of being unemployed.
