The buffer only fills up soon at very high ISO ratings. At 1600 ISO you are still getting 9 frames per second. I wouldn't want to let my K10 loose at that sort of ISO speed, the noise would deafening.Anvh wrote:

I popped into London Camera Exchange in Colchester on Friday, just to say hello, and discovered they'd got the K-5 in stock that morning, so had a good play with one then. Just felt ridiculously fast and responsive compared to my K10D, but haven't had a chance to properly look through the pics yet. I'm more interested in how they look at ISO100, but the high ISO capabilities seem outstanding, especially when compared to the K10D!
Will get mine in a month or so, got some other expenses to take care of at the moment...

Luckily for me DHL turned up at 10a.m. with my shiny new K5 so I have had a chance to play with it.
I am glad that I got my pre-order in with Jacobs at £999 for the body only as I see they have now pushed the price up to £1129. SRS seems competitive at £1099 with a spare battery and SD card included.

I'd expect this to be taken with a pinch of salt if you have a decent SD card? I know my buffer on the K10D is shown as 8 RAW and then it keeps going just as fast as it can write, which is pretty rapid...7 fps jpg full quality is approx 30 images, RAW is approx 8 images.
