It's probably just a case of setting the 'use aperture ring' to 'permitted' in the menu. Not sure which camera you have, but it will be in the menu somewhere. You will probably have to use the camera in Manual mode and there might be a bit of trial and error before you get the setting right, but that's what digital is for

The flashing F just means the camera doesn't know what the F stop is. It doesn't need to be set.
You might need to set the menu option to 'allow aperture ring' (I can't understand why this isn't the default), and perhaps have the camera set to manual focus - so that you can do test shots without having to get the focus sharp enough for the AF system.
Connecting telescopes & cameras can be complicated especially as there are multiple options (with eyepiece & camera lens, eyepiece but no lens, no eyepiece or camera lens...) Not all options work with all systems. My camera would have to be inside the telescope tube to reach focus without an eyepiece on my Newtonian.

I bought a DSLR telescope adapter for my brothers telescope.
He wants to attach it using the eyepiece... so we connect it etc etc...
however... the F-- is flashing on the display... so obviously the F stop needs to be set... so how would I do that?...
I'm so confused and getting annoyed at it... as there are no simple answers anywhere!
Help would be much appreciated.... Thank you!!
