Probably, the K5 is very quiet in comparison.

I switched from K20D to K5II earlier this year, and the shutter is much quieter. Nothing wrong with the K20D though, and personally I like the sound my ME Super makes!
K5IIs, K10D & ME Super with FA24-90, DA16-85, DA55-300, misc old primes; Olympus EM10 & Panasonic LX15.

I use a K10 and K5 and, despite my love of the former, the K5 has a wonderfully refined shutter sound. (K10 stll unbeaten ergonomically, though, in my humble opinion and my first choice if there's plenty of light about...)

It is much noiser than my k-5II and than my girlfriend's k-5.
Is it normal?
