If I were looking for a backup camera for a K10D, I would buy another K10D.
Which, in fact, is what I did. Both are set up identically so that whichever I pick up I don't have to worry whether I have camera A or camera B. They're the same.
You should be able to find a second-hand one at a reasonable price. In fact, I am thinking of trading mine in for a brace of K20Ds, so perhaps we have the basis for a deal.

I like my K200D a lot, I'm not sure it's inferior to the 10 as it carries features over from the 10 and uses a new sensor.
Menu wise it's the same as the 110D pretty much and from talking to my dad who uses a 10 is close enough to the 10's too.

The K200D has a smaller viewfinder image than the K10D, and only one e-dial instead of two. These two things would make it as much of a downgrade as an upgrade, IMHO.

I like my L200d, it's easy to use, pretty idiot proof and reliable.
If you're thinking of a K200d and 'grip why not push the boat out and gat a K20d body only?

I agree with George, why not another K10D? if not only for the fact that you can pick it up and use it instinctively, using a K200D will mean getting used to a different menu and most important using a body with only one dial.
If the back up isn't an immediate must why not save up a few more quid and go for the K20D and keep the K10D as the back up?

I love my K200D. After I found the new Varta AA cells, which really keep their charge, batteries are no problem any more.
The first set of rechargeables was from Biltema (the Norwegian equivalent of Halford's), and these lost the charge in a week or so. Most annoying. The Varta cells are said to keep at least 80% charge after one year.

I handled one in my local camera shop and was initially impressed by the size and weight .Compared to say the canon 450 and nikon d60 which i suppose would be their nearest competitors.
I know it has got the same insides as my K10 so image quality would be excellent.I've heard that the only downside to this camera is the continous shooting is quite poor but my k10 would take care of this.
I just wondered what people thought about the camera.
1.is it too entry level?
2.what is the menu system like?
3.does it have a digital display i.e shooting info through the viewfinder?
4.How good is the 11 point autofocus comared to the k10?
Thanks for any replies
